One lucky person is (digitally) much richer today than they were yesterday. The United States Marshals Service announced on Tuesday that a single bidder is taking home all of the nearly 30,000 Bitcoins that were auctioned off Friday. The Marshals Service did not identify the winner or disclose the winning bid. There were 45 registered bidders vying for the Bitcoins (which were seized from the now-defunct online black market Silk Road), including a syndicate run by SecondMarket, Pantera Bitcoin, the Bitcoin shop and Coinbase.
