One deputy was killed and two others were injured in a shootout near Denver on Wednesday morning. The melee occurred at a home in Bailey, but local reports did not indicate how it began. Officials said one suspect was killed, and none of the involved parties have been identified. The deputies were all from the Park County Sheriff's Office, and the injured officers reportedly suffered non-life-threatening wounds. Officials were searching the area with K-9s after the shooting, but media reports were unclear on what law enforcement officers were looking for. Two nearby schools were placed on lock down.
