Oprah Gives Away Trip To Australia For Audience

Oprah Winfrey certainly knows how to please a crowd. For the premiere of her farewell season on Monday, the queen of daytime TV went all out, giving an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia to all of her 300 audience members. Winfrey announced the trip by bringing out celebrity pal and pilot John Travolta, before launching into her signature giveaway spiel: "I started to think about where would I most want to go. Maybe I should take all of you with me to the other side of the world ... We're going to Australia! We are going to Australia! You and you and you and you, are going to Australia!" The talk show host is known for surprising her audiences with generous gifts—she once gave away new cars and has also given away scholarships for schools. Winfrey also gave the staff of her eponymous magazine iPads and $10,000 checks. Monday’s premiere episode marks the beginning of the 24th season, which will be the last for The Oprah Winfrey Show.
