Oprah Winfrey has hired a money manager to look after her billions and is setting up a so-called home office for her finances. Peter Adamson, the CEO of Eli Brand, will join Winfrey as she makes the transition to cable TV mogul from talk show. In the money-management world, Adamson is a star, having served as an adviser to the billionaire Bass brothers among other achievements, and he is Winfrey's first hire for the home office. A home office is similar to starting a personal money-management firm, rather than hiring one personal investor.
