What did she expect would happen? Oprah Winfrey apologized for the media blow-up that occurred after discussing an incident she described as a ”racist moment” at an upscale store in Switzerland where the shop assistant refused to show her a $38,000 handbag. During the L.A. premiere of The Butler, Oprah said that she was sorry. “I was just referencing it as an example of being in a place where people don’t expect that you would be able to be there,” she said. “I purposely did not mention the name of the store. I’m sorry that I said it was Switzerland.” The store was identified shortly after Oprah revealed the incident on Entertainment Tonight last week.
