Authorities announced on Saturday that the Oregon community college gunman committed suicide after a shootout with police. The police had previously said the 26-year-old was killed by officers during the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg. The medical examiner determined that Christopher Harper-Mercer took his own life.
