Chris Mintz, the student and Army veteran who was shot in the attack on an Oregon community college this month described his recollection of the attack in a lengthy post on Facebook. He describes running from his classroom to the library and other parts of campus, warning fellow students about the shooter. After doubling back toward the classroom, where “there was so much blood and it was so dark,” he says the shooter suddenly “opened the classroom door beside the door to my left, leaned half his torso out and started shooting as I turned toward him. He had a black shirt on, a shaved head, was tan and wearing glasses, he was so nonchalant through it all, like he was playing a video game and showed no emotion.” He writes the shots immobilized him as the shooter pointed the gun directly at Mintz’s face, then retreated. “I’m still confused at why he didn’t shoot me again,” Mintz writes.
