The suspect in the Orlando gay nightclub shooting had worked for nearly a decade at one of the world’s largest security firms. Omar Mateen, accused of killing 49 people and injuring at least 53 others in a shooting spree on Sunday night, had worked as a guard at a juvenile-delinquent facility, according to The Washington Post. He was employed by G4S, a security company that provided security at the London Olympics, worked on U.S. border control, and helped fight wildfires in Canada. During his time with the company, Mateen reportedly alienated co-workers by making homophobic and racist remarks and talking about killing people, a fact that apparently was never investigated by the company.
