Ottawa Sergeant-at-Arms Gets Standing O

Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers was given a standing ovation in the Canadian House of Commons on Thursday by MPs returning to work after a shooter attacked the legislature Wednesday. Vickers shot to death Michael Zehaf-Bibeau outside the Library of Parliament, at the foot of the Hall of Honor. The daily prayer Thursday was led by House Speaker Andrew Scheer, who asked for guidance before calling for a moment of silence in memory of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, who was shot and killed by the shooter. It was followed by the singing of the Canadian national anthem.
