At least 91 people have died in the destruction caused by a massive earthquake that hit the Indonesian island of Lombok. Hundreds more have been wounded, and around 1,000 foreign tourists are being evacuated from the nearby Gili Islands. There have been more than 130 aftershocks since the quake hit Sunday morning, the BBC reports. Residents in Lombok’s main city, Mataram, described a powerful 6.9-magnitude jolt. “Everyone immediately ran out of their homes, everyone is panicking,” one resident named as Iman told the BBC. One Indonesian official shared a video showing the scene on one beach as hundreds of tourists waited to be evacuated from the disaster zone. This earthquake comes a week after another quake hit Lombok and killed at least 16 people.
