A longtime Postal Service employee in New York City is facing federal charges after allegedly becoming so fed up with delivering the mail he stockpiled thousands of pieces at his home and in his car. Aleksey Germash, a 16-year Postal Service veteran, was confronted after a car parked in Brooklyn and full of blue mailbags was traced back to him, according to CNN. Authorities then discovered 10,000 pieces of undelivered mail items in his car, 6,000 pieces in his apartment, and 1,000 in his work locker, at which point Germash reportedly told investigators he was “overwhelmed by the amount of mail that he had to deliver.” He also said he “made sure to deliver the important mail.” One of the discovered items dates back to 2005. Germash now faces charges for violating a federal law on the delivery of U.S. mail.
