Pacquiao Could Be Punished Over Injury

For not reporting shoulder problem.

Officials are looking into why Manny Pacquiao failed to report his injuries a day before his fight against Floyd Mayweather, which could result in disciplinary action for the boxer. After a loss to Mayweather, Pacquiao revealed he had a shoulder injury but checked “no” on a commission questionnaire just before the weigh-in. Pacquiao could face a fine or suspension for not providing accurate information, according to Athletic Commission Chairman Francisco Aguilar. Pacquiao is expected to have surgery to repair a “significant tear” in his rotator cuff later this week, ESPN reports.
