Pakistan Backs Away from Bounty

On maker of “Innocence of Muslims.”

The Pakistani government is distancing itself from one of its cabinet ministers after he said he would ante up $100,000 to whoever kills the maker of Innocence of Muslims, the controversial film that has ignited the Muslim world in recent weeks. Protests over the film have spread, with 19 people being killed in Pakistan alone on Friday. While Ghulam Ahmad Bilour said Saturday that his offer was not a government position and that he would pay the bounty himself, the government on Monday reiterated that the offer is not a matter of official government policy.
