A car bomb exploded in a busy market in Peshawar, Pakistan on Sunday, killing 33 and wounding dozens more. “It was a huge blast … thick black smoke covered the air and splinters spread all over,” one witness told the Associated Press. "Women and children were burning," another told CNN. According to a report in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, the police station may have been the target. The bombing comes while the city is still reeling from a bombing on Friday of a bus carrying government employees and a church explosion last week that killed 80. The Taliban claimed responsibility for Sunday’s church bombing, further hindering Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s peace talks.
