Pakistan has begun demolishing Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, after authorities completely ruled out the prospect leaving it up as a monument to the al Qaeda terrorist. Destruction reportedly began after sunset on Saturday, according to two local residents who declined to give their names for fear of the government's response. A senior Pakistani official confirmed to the Associated Press that destruction has begun, though he declined to say why the government had not decided until now to tear down the three-story concrete compound, 10 months after bin Laden was killed by U.S. Navy SEALs.
