Pakistan’s military fanned out to hunt for accomplices of a suicide bomber who blew himself up on Easter Sunday at the entrance to a popular children’s play area in the city of Lahore, killing at least 72 people, including many children. More than 300 were injured, officials said, as they declared a three-day period of mourning for Punjab province. Early Monday, a Pakistani Taliban splinter group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying their bomber deliberately targeted the Gulshan-e-Iqbal park because of its large Christian crowd and popularity with families. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s office said he will go ahead with a planned trip to the White House this week for a planned nuclear summit, but will cancel a stopover in the U.K.
