Thousands of Palestinians demonstrated in the streets of the West Bank to protest Charlie Hebdo and its printing of cartoons depicting the Muslim prophet Mohammed. Islamic terrorists targeted the satirical French magazine earlier this month in an attack that resulted in 12 victims. “France is the mother of terrorism. America is the mother of terrorism,” protesters chanted. Simultaneous protests against Charlie Hebdo's cartoons were also held in Ramallah and Hebron. They were organized by the Islamist Tahrir Party, which advocates for the creation of an Islamic caliphate.
