The Palin machine may soon become more formidable. Alaska’s former governor has hired Michael Glassner, who Politico calls a “veteran operative,” to serve as chief of staff to her team—perhaps the strongest indication yet that she’s headed toward a 2012 presidential run. Glassner was a former aide to ex-Sen. Bob Dole; he also worked on Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for organizing Palin’s staff, based all over the country. “We are excited that Mike has agreed to come on to help the team," said SarahPAC Treasurer Tim Crawford.
