Monterey County officials have ordered Big Sur residents to evacuate as a wildfire tears through California. The fire began late Friday in Palo Colorado canyon, about 14 miles north of Big Sur. The flames spread across about 250 acres, forcing a 23-mile stretch of Highway 1 to close between Andrew Molera State Park and Carmel-By-The-Sea.
