Papa John’s founder John Schnatter is suing to access company records because of the “unexplained and heavy-handed way” he was treated by Papa John’s International Inc., his complaint states. Schnatter resigned as Papa John’s chairman of the board earlier this month after reports revealed that he used the “n-word” during a May conference call. He admitted using the word to Forbes, but has since called his resignation a “mistake.” He remains on the Papa John’s board, owning a 29 percent stake in the company.
