The knockout round of the World Cup finally had another nail-biter: Paraguay beat Japan on penalty kicks on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals. Paraguay outscored Japan 5-3 on the kicks after a 0-0 draw in regular play. The only miss was by Japanese defender Yuichi Komano, who hit the crossbar.
