Parents of Charlie Gard Withdraw Application to Travel to U.S.
OUT OF TIME
The parents of a terminally ill British baby on Monday withdrew their application to take him to the United States, their lawyer said. Reuters reported that Charlie Gard has run out of time to have an experimental treatment. The family was set to return to court Monday to hear closing arguments in a mounting legal battle over whether the baby’s life support should be turned off by the hospital. The 11-month-old has a rare condition that causes muscle weakness and brain damage.
