Unknown culprits attacked the parents of 15-year-old Leonarda Dibrani, a Roma originally from Kosovo whose deportation from France has been met with international outrage. The family lost their battle for asylum in October and Dibrani was forcibly removed from her school bus—in full view of her classmates—after losing an asylum battle. An investigation is underway as to the conditions under how Dibrani was removed, and French President Francois Hollande has offered her—and only her—the chance to return. She refused. Dibrani, her parents, and her five siblings are now living in the divided city of Mitrovica. Her mother was treated in a hospital for her injuries.
