An 11-year-old girl was sold by her parents for €17,000, Spanish authorities say, and they have arrested five people from two families in connection to the case. “They would constantly insult, threaten, and hit her, and force her to have sex” with her future husband, authorities say, and the family only returned her to her parents after authorities began investigating. The child lives in Spain, but authorities say she was sold at an engagement party in Romania.
