Parkland Cop Suspended for Sleeping on the Job at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
A sheriff’s deputy assigned to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the site of the deadly Parkland shooting last month, was suspended without pay after he was caught sleeping on the job, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said. “Of all the schools in America, you would think this would be the safest one right now. This is so outrageous it’s almost impossible to believe,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said. The sheriff’s department has already taken heat over the school resource officer’s decision not to enter the building last month during the shooting, which claimed the lives of 17 people.
