Speculation is swirling on how Michaele and Sareq Salahi managed to get past security and into the receiving line; the Secret Service has already released a statement calling the agency “deeply concerned and embarrassed” by the lapse, and that the couple “should have been prohibited from entering the event entirely.” The pair was photographed shaking hands with the president in the presence of dignitaries and other guests whose names were presumably on the list.
