An airliner has crash-landed in the Pacific Ocean after missing a runway at a Papua New Guinea airport. The disaster befell the jet—which was en route to the tiny island of Weno from Micronesia—after the Air Niugini plane missed the runway by about 160 meters. All 36 passengers and 11 crew members are alive, but the plane was completely submerged and one passenger was injured.
