Paul LePage: I’m Not Speaking to the Press ‘Ever Again’

Maine Gov. Paul LePage said Wednesday that he will never speak to the press again after it was reported that he was considering stepping down. The declaration came in response to rumors that the Republican was considering a resignation following his shocking scolding of a state representative in a profanity-laced tirade caught on tape. “I’m not an alcoholic and I’m not a drug addict and I don’t have mental issues,” LePage, an ardent supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, said. “What I have is a backbone, and I want to move Maine forward.” He also accused the press of dishonesty as calls for him to resign are mounting. “And I’m serious,” LePage said of his vow to never speak with reporters again. “Everything will be put into writing. I’m tired of being caught in the gotcha moments.”
