Paula Deen Fires Legal Team

Paula Deen is not going down without a fight—at least, not without a fight from the best legal team a butter queen can buy. The disgraced celebrity chef has apparently decided that her “previous attorneys were out of their depth,” according to sources who spoke with People magazine, and has cut ties with the firm Oliver Maner. Instead Deen has enlisted an attorney from “one of the top labor firms in the country,” Grace Speights of Morgan Lewis’s labor and employment practice, and Patricia Glaser, a powerful entertainment lawyer. Meanwhile, the inspiration for the character of Olivia Pope in ABC’s hit drama Scandal, Judy Smith, is still under Deen’s employ.
