Tim Pawlenty weighs in on the new Romney-Santorum rivalry. The former presidential candidate turned Mitt Romney supporter urged Santorum to “keep it on the issues and don’t make it personal,” going into Tuesday’s Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri primaries. “I think the debate and the back-and-forth is fair. He said the other day a scathing attack on Gov. Romney on health care, and other news reports showed that, in fact, Rick Santorum supported the government mandate some years ago when he was in Congress.” Pawlenty said Monday that Rick Santorum is not ready to be president. The Romney campaign decided to shift its attention toward Santorum this week, as he looks like the most likely challenger to Romney’s lead in the primary contest. Santorum hit back against the Romney camp’s attacks, challenging his record on health care.
