When asked in an interview with Charlie Rose if the House would have the votes to pass the health-care bill, Pelosi said, “If we took it up today, yes.” Why then haven’t they passed it already? Pelosi said that they couldn’t set the timing for the final vote until they agree on the final legislative language and the Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill’s impact. “My clock doesn’t start ticking until the CBO numbers come,” she said.
