President Trump accepted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) invitation to give his State of the Union address on Feb. 5, in a letter sent Monday. “It is a great honor to accept,” Trump wrote. “We have a great story to tell and yet, great goals to achieve!” In her letter, Pelosi stated that the pair had agreed in conversation on Monday to hold the address on Feb. 5. The letters comes after weeks of brutal sparring between the pair, which included Pelosi calling on Trump to cancel the State of the Union until the shutdown had ended, and Trump firing back by canceling Pelosi’s trip to Afghanistan.
