After the Democrats' historic losses Tuesday, Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s future in the party was uncertain. The outgoing speaker of the House has now made it clear that she intends to stay on as her party’s leader in the House. Pelosi used Twitter to make the announcement Friday, matter-of-factly tweeting: “I am running for Dem leader.” Speculation about her future fueled calls from conservative Democrats for her to step aside to allow present Majority Leader Rep. Steny Hoyer, of Maryland, to be the minority leader.
