Pence: U.S. Will Unveil ‘Toughest’ Sanctions on North Korea

The U.S. is set to announce the “toughest and most aggressive” economic sanctions against North Korea, Vice President Mike Pence declared Wednesday in Japan. “We will continue to isolate North Korea until it abandons its nuclear- and ballistic-missile programs once and for all,” said Pence, who is leading the U.S. delegation at the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, on Friday. Pence had meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday.
