Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett says he won’t appeal a recent judge’s ruling striking down the state’s gay-marriage ban. Corbett, who is running for reelection, chose a path followed by fellow Republican governors Chris Christie and Brian Sandoval, who both abandoned appeals they thought they would not win. “As a Roman Catholic, the traditional teaching of my faith has not wavered. I continue to maintain the belief that marriage is between one man and one woman,” Corbett said in a statement. Now that Corbett will let the ruling stand, Pennsylvania is the 25th state to have gay marriage declared legal, evenly dividing the country.
