A Pennsylvania man has been indicted for attempting to provide support to a Lebanese militant group designated a terrorist organization by the United States. Jack Danager Molloy, a 24-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Ireland, previously served with the U.S. military before traveling to Syria last year in an alleged bid to join Hezbollah. He is further accused of promoting antisemitic hatred and violence, as well as lying to the FBI about the purpose of his trip to Syria after returning to the U.S. ahead of his arrest in Chicago on Dec. 6. For attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization, he faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison, in addition to eight years and a possible $250,000 fine for making false statements to investigators.
