People magazine on Tuesday published a story with six separate witness accounts corroborating reporter Natasha Stoynoff’s story, in which she accused Donald Trump of forcing himself on her in 2005. The accounts include colleagues and close friends, one of whom claims she was present when Stoynoff allegedly ran into Melania Trump on the street later that year. “They chatted in a friendly way,” said friend Liza Herz. “And what struck me most was that Melania was carrying a child and wearing heels.” A former journalism professor, Paul McLaughlin, said Stoynoff called her in tears on the day that the reported incident happened, but that he told her she should keep the story to herself because he believed the real-estate mogul would likely retaliate. “She wasn’t sure what she should do,” McLaughlin said. “I advised her not to say anything, because I believed Trump would deny it and try to destroy her.” Since nearly a dozen women have come forward to accuse Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct, the Republican candidate has made a concerted effort to tar his accusers by calling them “liars” and Hillary Clinton plants, all while suggesting they are not attractive enough for him to grope.
