Someone is seeking compensation in the 2011 pepper spray incident at UC-Davis, and it's not who you think. John Pike, whose image went viral after he was photographed pepper-spraying several students sitting in a row on the ground during an Occupy protest, is seeking workers' compensation due to psychiatric injury he claims to have suffered in connection to the incident. He was fired a year ago, eight months after an investigation ruled that his actions were unwarranted. The settlement conference for the bizarre case is set for August 13.
