Texas governor and three-day-old Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry visited the Iowa State Fair on Monday and wasted no time in taking a jab at fellow candidate Mitt Romney. “Take a look at his record,” Perry said, referring to the 47th ranking that the U.S. Labor Department gave to Massachusetts when Romney was governor. “Take a look at my record,” Perry said, staking his claim on the suggestion that Texas is home to one third of the jobs created in the country in the last two years (according to the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, that is). Perry also jabbed at President Obama, who’s on a Midwestern bus tour. “He said he’s on a listening tour, and I’m going to talk to him,” Perry said. “Mr. President, you need to free up the employers of this country to free up jobs.”
