There is life after government service. Private-equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. announced it has hired former Obama CIA director David Petraeus as chairman of its new KKR Global Institute, which focuses on global macroeconomic, social, and geopolitical issues. It's the latest high-profile posting for Petraeus, who was tapped by President Bush to prevent an all-out civil war in Iraq, and later chosen by President Obama to lead forces in Afghanistan and then head the CIA. In the fall of 2012, Petraeus resigned after being mired in a sex scandal with biographer Paula Broadwell.
