Piers Morgan plans to end his prime-time show on CNN, he told New York Times media columnist David Carr in an article published Sunday night. Piers Morgan Live has performed poorly in the ratings, facing some of the same difficulties as its predecessor, Larry King Live, in addition to Morgan's difficulty connecting with an American audience. "I'm a British guy debating American cultural issues," Morgan told Carr, referencing a recent incident in which he was criticized for calling a gun advocate "unbelievably stupid." Morgan said the show has "run its course" and that he and CNN chief Jeff Zucker have discussed ending it.
