Sources said the close call was caused by an air-traffic controller’s mistake. The Federal Aviation Administration, already in hot water for several high-profile mistakes involving air-traffic controllers, sent a team of investigators Tuesday to the Warrenton radar control center, where the mistake was made. The FAA is expected to comment later Tuesday about the incident.
