A Learjet crashed in a river south of the Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, Illinois, Tuesday afternoon, airport officials said. The plane was making its final approach, and had been cleared for a normal landing, when it went down a mile south of the airport. Video of the scene shows pieces of the plane broken up in the Des Plaines River. It was a Royal Air cargo jet; Royal Air Freight Inc. declined to comment until it had more information.
