A plane skidded off the runway Wednesday at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport, veering into a field and breaking into pieces. One local TV station said the Boeing 737 caught on fire but was quickly extinguished. The plane belonged to low-cost Turkish airline Pegasus and had arrived from the city of Izmir, NTV television reported. Some of the 177 passengers on board were injured in what the Transportation Ministry called a “rough landing.”
