In celebration of the 50th anniversary of his first Playboy Club, Hugh Hefner is kicking off a year of cotton-tailed celebrations with an art exhibit showcasing the iconic image of the Playboy Bunny. The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh has gathered representations of the company’s mascot from more than 20 contemporary and street artists for the new show, Playboy Redux: Contemporary Artists Interpret the Iconic Playboy Bunny, including, of course, Warhol’s famous 1985 interpretation. The exhibition, which is up now through June 19, challenged the artists to reinvent the bunny. From photos to paintings to sculptures to video, artists such as Gary Baseman, Scott Anderson, Jeremy Kost, Tara McPherson, Kalup Linzy, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Chitra Ganesh, Ludovica Gioscia, Yumiko Kayukawa, Hiroki Otsuka, Vadis Turner, Saya Woolfalk, and O Zhang all gave a new look to the rabbit with a rabid fan base.
