Sure, the Midwest is enjoying a brief weather respite with two consecutive days of above-freezing temperatures. Don’t get used to that balmy weather, though. Jeff Masters at the Weather Underground predicts the polar vortex will once again rear its ugly head starting on Sunday. Resulting temperatures could be 20 to 35 degrees below normal across much of the Eastern two-thirds of the country. So, there’s your warning to stock up on bourbon and mittens.
