Police: 14 Chicago Children Hospitalized Over ‘Laced Candy’

At least fourteen students were hospitalized on Wednesday morning after eating “laced candy” at an elementary school in Chicago, police said. Officials are still investigating what may have been the cause of the sickness. The children were all being treated at about 8:30 a.m. after consuming the candy at James Russell Lowell Elementary School. Several local news outlets described the sick children as in “good condition.”
