Scotland Yard detained 60 people in the royal wedding zone Friday, using Section 60 of the criminal code that allowed them to stop and search anyone without discretion. Police said one person had been charged criminally. Police also used Section 60a of the criminal code against a group of anarchists, which allows them to remove masks and balaclavas from anyone in the area. Friday’s arrests came on the heels of pre-emptive arrests on Wednesday and Thursday of squatters and anarchists.
