May have started as a domestic-violence incident, authorities say.

Police have arrested a man who allegedly killed three children in his apartment in West Sacramento late Wednesday night. The killings were called in to authorities as a domestic-violence incident, said Sgt. Roger Kinney. Officers who arrived on the scene were not able to save the children, and officials have not released their ages or information about how they died. “It’s very difficult, especially for the folks who are on scene,” Kinney said. Police identified the suspect as Robert Hodges, 33.
