Jesús Salas Aguayo, the Mexican gang leader of the violent Juárez Cartel, was arrested Friday in the town of Villa Ahumada, authorities told reporters Sunday. The 38-year-old Salas, who is on the DEA's Most Wanted list, rose to power earlier this year after the arrests of his predecessors in January and before that in October, Mexico's national security commissioner said. Salas is suspected in a 2009 killing of a protected witness, a 2010 car bombing that killed two federal agents and a 2012 bar shooting that left 15 people dead. Police said they also arrested the leader of the Gulf Cartel, José Tiburcio Hernández Fuentes, the same day.
